Privacy Policy

Effective 8 September 2026. Last updated 8 September 2026.

Want your data deleted? Email privacy@myhoplog.com from the address on the account. Company owners should use the owner email. We delete what we control. We do not freeze an account and call that deletion. See Account and data deletion.

Who we are

MyHopLog is an Android app companies use so drivers can clock in, take breaks, and record work mileage, and so managers can handle schedules and related team work.

This page explains how the app handles information. Location is the part people care about most, so that is spelled out below. If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the app. Your employer may have its own rules about phones and timekeeping. Those sit between you and them.

What we collect

What we see depends on your job and how your company set things up. We collect what the app needs to run timekeeping and mileage. We do not collect extra data for ads.

Work records live on the company account. Your employer decides who inside the company can see them.

This policy is for the Android app. Company web tools may show the same work records. Other websites are not covered here.

Location

Your company uses MyHopLog to record work miles. That only works if the app can collect GPS while you are on shift.

Ongoing GPS runs only when all of this is true:

  1. you are clocked in
  2. mileage tracking is on for your profile
  3. you are not on a break

If you allow location “all the time,” miles can keep recording when you switch apps or lock the phone. A notification stays on screen, something like “Recording miles while you are clocked in.” Before you clock in, the app explains this on the screen.

On a break, ongoing GPS stops. After you clock out, it stops. We do not record your route while you are clocked out.

The app may still take a one-off location when you punch, when you tag a receipt, or to show your position on a map you have open. That is not a full shift track.

During a shift, route points stay on the phone. After you clock out they go up to your company’s account. Once that upload works, we remove them from the phone.

People at your company who are allowed to see mileage can review the uploaded route. We do not sell location data. We do not use GPS for ads.

How we use it

We use this information to sign you in, run timekeeping and mileage, attach receipts you choose to add, send work notifications, give managers the tools their role allows, keep the app stable, and deal with abuse or legal requests.

Android will ask for permissions (location, notifications, camera or photos) when a feature needs them. You can refuse. Some features will not work without them.

Who we share with

We do not sell personal information.

Your company. Managers and other people your company authorizes can see work data that matches their role: shifts, breaks, miles, routes, schedules, and similar records.

Vendors who run the service. We use cloud hosts and Google services for login, storage, maps on screen, push notifications, and crash reports. They process data so the app can function. They are not allowed to sell it as ads for us.

Law. We may share information if a court or law requires it, or to protect people from harm.

If MyHopLog is sold or transferred, account and work data would move with the product. The same kind of protection would still apply, or we would post a new notice.

How long we keep it

Route points on the phone last for the shift, then upload, then we clear them locally after a successful upload.

Uploaded shifts, miles, receipts, and other company records stay on the company account for as long as that company needs them for payroll, mileage, or their own rules. We do not set a single public expiry date for those records because the company is the one keeping them as workplace files.

Your login stays until you (or your company) ask us to delete it, or until it is no longer needed for security or law. Notification tokens stay only while we still need to reach that phone.

Account and data deletion

Email privacy@myhoplog.com. This page is the public place to start that request.

Tell us:

Write from the address on the account, or from the company owner’s address if this is a company-wide request. We try to finish within 30 days. We may email back if we cannot match the account.

If you are a driver. We delete your login and the profile data we hold for you (name, email, role, notification token). We do not leave the account sitting there disabled. Your employer may still keep shift and mileage history as their workplace records. Say in the email if you only want the login gone.

If you own the company account. You can ask us to delete the company and the work data we host for it. We will do that, aside from a thin record we may need for security or law (for example, that a deletion request was completed). We will say so if that applies.

For now, email is how you ask. We will also put a delete option in the Android app. Uninstalling the app takes it off the phone. It does not wipe the company records by itself.

Security

Access is limited by login and by company role. Traffic to our servers uses HTTPS. Ongoing GPS only runs under the clocked-in rules above. Nothing online is perfectly safe. Use a decent password, lock your phone, and tell your employer or us if you think someone got into the account.

Your choices

Questions about workplace files your company still holds should go to your admin. You can also email privacy@myhoplog.com.

Children

MyHopLog is for working adults. It is not meant for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think that happened, email us and we will delete it where we should.

Where data lives

App data is stored in the United States with the cloud providers we use. If you use the app from another country, your information is sent there. We do not have a separate EU or UK representative.

Updates

We will change this page if the app’s data practices change, or if the law or Google Play needs a clearer explanation. The date at the top will move. If the change is large, we may also mention it in the app. Keep using the app after an update and you are accepting the new page, unless the law says otherwise.

Contact

If the question is really an HR issue (hours, miles, who can see your shift), ask your company as well.
